Some employers reward members of staff for their exceptional contribution to the company by giving them extra money. This practice (thói quen, thông lệ) can act as an incentive(sự khuyến khích) for some but may also have a negative impact on others. To what extent is this style of management effective? Are there better ways of encouraging employees to work hard? You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence

With the expectation of the consistently high productivity, employers need to find some effective ways to motivate their staff and properly reward the excellent performance and hard work. I really concur with financial incentive, however, I think there are also other effective way of recognizing employees' contributions. Money is considered the main target of most workers, therefore, financial support for ones who work genuinely much harder than orders is notably rational. In on hand, offering extra money can bring benefit to them, and in other hand, I'm sure that the employers who use this style of management do hope for the creation of big motivation to the rest. However, this can have a negative effect in some cases. For example, it might unintentionally raise the jealousy among the staffs or even frustrate others as they think they can do as well as the rewarded colleagues if the opportunity arises. Apart from the economic strategies of reward, the management can consider to other various ways of encouragement. For instance, they can offer a promotion to the capable employees. As well as that, they should demonstrate their sincere appreciation to the top performers. These ways can indeed create great motivation as well. To sum up, beside the tradition incentive of cash bonus, employers should offer more extra motivational tools to not only encourage their employees but also gain consistent contribution.
