Biodiversity

In recent years, there has been a significant increase of rare animals and plants being in danger. The list of these species continues to grow. There have been many causes of this trend – developments in agriculture, forestry, mining and transport. In my point of view, there are many things that government can and should do to protect the world’s fauna and flora.
In response to the problem, governments may react by introducing strict wildlife regulations. For example, they should punish individuals who commit environmental crimes or activities that may result in damaging natural habitats. Although legislative measures do nothing to restore endangered species, they are an effective tool that may limit negative consequences for environment as well as wildlife.
Another approach would be the governments themselves to create more effective protecting areas. Since habitats are being destroyed, it is crucial to offer artificial wider life areas.  These areas should consider all elements of the ecosystem and include all resources that would be utilized by its inhabitants – rare animals and plants being in danger. Thanks to this, biodiversity could be conserved and flourish.
Last but not least, responsible authorities need to raise awareness among residents on what to do about biodiversity saving. There is no doubt that knowledge about the importance of biodiversity should be spread to every household. Therefore, promotion campaigns about reuse, reduce and recycle lifestyles should be encouraged. Hopefully, the urge for rare materials from the natural world is to be brought down considerably.

In conclusion, based on my perspective, the proposed solutions mentioned above: strict regulations, creating protecting areas and raising awareness, might help maintain biodiversity if they are brought into practice and widely implemented all over the world.
