The diagram shows the various stages in career paths in the travel industry.

To progress in the travel industry, there are two career paths that can be followed. Beginning as either a travel sales assistant or a travel clerk, one can first become a travel consultant for domestic operations. After that, one can be an international operation. From this position, there are three accessible directions. Travel consultants can become senior travel consultants, however there will be no further promotion after this. They can also choose to move either in the direction of commercial private sector, or public sector or specialized domestic. In the private sector, the next stage is to be a travel sales supervisor and then to a small agency manager or a branch manager. In the public sector, one can be promoted to be a travel administration manager or a marketing manager. Both small agency managers and marketing managers can reach the highest level-Chief executive- directly. Hence, branch manager and travel admin managers are acquired to be senior manager before they can reach to the top level.
